Heavy Duty Technician Wanted

Torque Performance and Accessories Inc. is urgently hiring for full time positions in the field of Heavy Duty and Automotive Technology. We are a small family-owned repair shop that is forever growing, and this is your opportunity to be a part of it. We pride ourselves on providing an atmosphere people enjoy working in and we take our positive working environment seriously.

As a team, we service and maintain commercial trucks, such as any fleet vehicles in automotive all the way up to Kenworths, Peterbilts, Western Stars, Freightliners, Hinos, and much more. We also work on automotive diesel pickups, such as Duramax, Cummins, and Power Stroke. Trailer repair is not common but will be required periodically. As a member of the Torque Performance team, you will be exposed to many opportunities to expand your knowledge and hone your current skill set as a qualified technician.

The position requires you to work in a shop in West Edmonton. Large shop tools are provided. Applicant must provide their own basic toolbox and tools for in shop duties.

Duties include, but are not limited to: maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and replacement of: - Oil and filters. - Brakes, seals, and bearings. - Air systems, from compressors to brake chambers and everything in between. - Hydraulic systems, such as hydraulic brakes and PTOs. - Suspension, including springs, airbags, shocks, and bushings. - Electrical systems, from wiring, switching, to lighting. - Engines, transmissions, drivelines, and differential axles. - Spray control systems, such as fenders and mudflaps. - Hitches and permanently attached equipment. - Basic welding and cutting. - Shop clean-up and general labour.

CVIP license is an asset, but it is not required. We know these are goals for many apprentices and we can help you get there

As a member of the team, you will have access to Mitchel Prodemand and Truckdemand professional repair procedures.

Attributes we are looking for: - Team Player - Self-Motivated - Internal drive for quality work - Attention to detail - Basic knowledge of tool use and repair procedures - Basic understanding and experience at minimum

Job Type: Permanent Full Time Hourly Pay Rate: $25.80-$45.00 per hour

Base pay for journeyman/woman technicians is $43/hour. $2/hour top up requires technician to have a valid CVIP licence. This can be negotiated, based on experience, qualifications, clean drivers abstract, CVIP license, etc.

Schedule: 36-44 hour work weeks, with opportunities for overtime. Occasional Saturdays.
