As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our Building & Construction leadership team. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in dynamic project environments, values collaboration, and takes pride in delivering results that exceed client expectations.
The Opportunity
The Project Manager – Building & Construction Division is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. This includes managing project budgets, schedules, quality control, and stakeholder communication while leading field and office teams to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general contracting, renovations, site coordination, and civil/construction management , capable of leading multiple concurrent projects while maintaining DNM's high standards of safety, client service, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead and oversee all phases of assigned building and construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely, quality delivery.
- Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to confirm scope alignment and constructability.
- Monitor progress, anticipate issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all work meets DNM's quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Financial & Contract Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cash flow to maintain profitability and cost control.
- Review and approve change orders, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Prepare progress claims, manage contract documentation, and ensure compliance with all terms.
- Collaborate with estimating and finance teams to ensure project alignment and accurate reporting.
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to Project Coordinators, Field Supervisors, and field staff.
- Foster collaboration and communication between office and field teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
- Participate in client meetings, progress reviews, and project handovers.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion DNM's safety culture and lead by example on all project sites.
- Conduct regular site visits, safety inspections, and quality audits.
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and all regulatory requirements.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability in project execution.
Planning & Reporting
- Prepare and present project updates, progress reports, and financial summaries to leadership.
- Track key milestones, risk indicators, and performance metrics.
- Support the implementation of DNM's project management systems and best practices.
- Ensure timely completion of project documentation and close-out packages.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in project management or construction leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial, residential, or public sector construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and site coordination.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Procore, or equivalent project management software.
- Valid Ontario G-Class Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
- Preferred:
- Gold Seal Certification (GSC), PMP, CET, or equivalent designation.
- Experience with design-build, lump-sum, and construction management delivery models.
- Knowledge of estimating and procurement processes.
