We' are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead our Building & Construction Division, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and a culture of leadership throughout the business.

The Opportunity

The General Manager – Building & Construction Division is a pivotal leadership role responsible for strategic, financial, and operational performance across the division's carpentry, building, civil excavation, and general contracting operations.

Reporting directly to the COO, the GM will:

• Lead business planning, financial management, and project delivery excellence.
• Champion safety, quality, and client satisfaction as core non-negotiables.
• Drive growth through innovation, team development, and process optimization.
• Represent DNM as a trusted partner to clients, stakeholders, and the community.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a strategic builder with a deep understanding of both field operations and business management , and a strong background in project management and estimating.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute divisional business strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Oversee full-cycle project delivery, from tendering to closeout, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability.
• Own divisional P&L, budgets, and financial targets in collaboration with executive leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational discipline, and workforce engagement.
• Mentor and develop teams across management, supervision, and trades.
• Foster a culture of Zero Harm, accountability, and innovation.
• Strengthen relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.
• Champion DNM's brand of reliability, respect, and results-driven leadership.

What You Bring

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business. 
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction, civil operations, or related sectors.
• Proven success managing multi-division operations or large-scale construction and/or building projects.
  
• Strong financial acumen — comfortable with P&L ownership, forecasting, and KPI management.
• Deep knowledge of construction practices, estimating, and project management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams.
• Executive or leadership training considered an asset.
