Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sit Stay Sparkle Full time $30,000 - $60,000 per year

We are a well-established dog walking business that also offers House Sitting Services. We're currently looking for a reliable, professional, and dog-loving house sitter to take on approximately two weeks of house sitting per month, primarily in the Mount Pleasant area, with occasional requests from further afield (e.g., UBC or North Vancouver). A vehicle and flexibility are strong assets.

Who We're Looking For:

You are someone who:

  • Works remotely or from home, with a primary source of income already established.
  • Has professional house sitting or overnight experience—through rescues, SPCA, Rover, WAG, Pet Sitters International, Trusted House Sitters, or similar.
  • Is reliable, communicative, and calm under pressure.
  • Is available for occasional Meet & Greets prior to booking assignments.

Requirements:

  • Able to pass a criminal background check and provide two references.
  • Holds a valid Pet First Aid Certification or is willing to obtain one within the probation period.
  • Lives in Vancouver, BC, and is legally permitted to work in Canada.
  • Is fluent in English, spoken and written, for communicating with clients and writing pet updates.

You Must Be:

  • An animal lover who is comfortable getting a bit wet and mucky... this is the West Coast
  • Supportive of Positive Reinforcement & Fear/Force-Free pet care.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs and handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Comfortable walking at least 5 km daily, in all kinds of weather.
  • Equipped with a smartphone that has internet access, camera capabilities, and enough storage for apps and media.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend Meet & Greets with new clients.
  • Understand and follow each dog's individual care plan.
  • Arrive on time for house sits and follow all pet care instructions.
  • Administer meals and medications accurately and on schedule.
  • Securely manage entry and exit to clients' homes.
  • Be alert and observant during walks, particularly around triggers.
  • Pick up and dispose of all pet waste appropriately.
  • Capture and send daily photos/videos to clients.
  • Submit report cards via our App with daily updates and media.
  • Perform light home care tasks: watering plants, collecting mail, feeding small pets, etc.

Bonus Points for:

  • Pet First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with reactive or special-needs dogs
  • Background in animal care, training, or behavior
  • Prior work with pet sitting platforms or rescue organizations
