Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist with various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices, as well as proficiency in dental software systems. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area according to infection control protocols.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, including handling inquiries at the front desk when necessary.
- Support orthodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting with patient fittings.
- Work collaboratively with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and practices, including knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) applications for dental work.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry, orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dental care.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
