HR/Office Manager

Reporting directly to the COO, the Human Resources/Office Manager serves as the sole owner of the Human Resources function and a key administrative leader within the organization. This role provides strategic and hands-on HR support in a manufacturing environment, overseeing all aspects of recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation, health & safety, and workforce development.
In addition to leading the full HR function, the position manages daily office operations, supports senior leadership, and plays an integral role in shaping organizational culture and executing company-wide initiatives. This is a highly visible and impactful role requiring strong judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage all HR functions as the sole HR representative for the organization.
- Establish and manage HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook tailored to the needs of a manufacturing workforce.
- Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, organizational development, and cultural initiatives.
- Conduct market research to support salary benchmarking and compensation recommendations.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for all roles, including job posting, screening, interviewing support, and offer management.
- Administer onboarding, orientation, and new-hire coordination activities to ensure a seamless entry into the company.
- Maintain employee records, track attendance, manage vacation/sick leave, and ensure compliance with labour laws and safety regulations.
- Administer payroll inputs, salary changes, and maintain accurate employee records.
- Support supervisors with performance review processes, goal setting, and development plans.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate workplace health & safety programs and Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
- Help coordinate internal events, safety meetings, and company-wide communications.
- Collaborate closely with senior management on executive-level decision-making, contributing HR perspectives to organizational strategy, workforce planning, and business objectives.

Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades environment.
- Experience setting up or formalizing HR processes is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and basic office technology.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, growing company.
- CHRP or equivalent HR certification (or in progress).
