RESPONSIBILITIES
An Equipment Operator with Highstreet is a key part in the organization and upkeep of a fast-paced multi-family construction site. This role is responsible for safe operation of rough terrain telehandler (Zoom Boom) and skid steer, waste diversion for sustainable and responsible recycling of construction materials, and organization and scheduling of garbage/recycling bin dump and returns.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform all duties assigned by the Foreman or Site Superintendent
- Maintaining site cleanliness
- Site organization
- Offloading of construction materials
- Loading trade materials into buildings where needed
- Garbage scrap out from buildings
- Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, brooms wheelbarrows, and other equipment
- Adhere to relevant safety regulations
- Any other duties as reasonably assigned
- Work outside in all kinds of weather
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 1+ year(s) experience operating rough terrain telehandler
- 1+ year(s) multi-family construction experience
- Have good physical conditioning and stamina
- Possess general understanding of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines
- Carpentry experience considered a strong asset
- Communicate openly and ethically with a positive attitude
- Thrive working in a fast-paced environment
- Be a team player, be self-motivated and efficient
Compensation Package:
Hourly Salary: $32.69 per hour.
Annual Bonus: Highstreet pays an annual bonus based on company performance. A typical bonus for an Equipment Operator is approximately 14% of annual salary. Determined annually, the bonus could be more or less depending on performance results.
Investment Opportunity: Highstreet encourages all employees to share in our success by offering the opportunity to invest in the projects we build and operate. To encourage employee investment, Highstreet matches employee investment at 50%, up to 20% of annual salary (i.e. for every $1 invested by the employee, Highstreet invests $0.50 on the employee's behalf). The investments are TFSA and RRSP eligible.
Additional requirements:
- Satisfactory criminal and credit check.
- Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle required.
- Employees are required to have a smartphone and be willing to download certain apps for timekeeping etc.
