Job Title: Full-Time Cook (Indian Snacks and South Indian Dishes)

Job Description:

Thindi Cafe is seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Time Cook with expertise in Indian snacks and South Indian dishes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a deep understanding of traditional Indian flavors and cooking techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of Indian snacks such as Vada Pav, Dabeli, Poha, Upma, as well as South Indian dishes like Bangalore style Dosas and Idlis.
  • Work closely with the Chief Chef and owner to ensure that established recipes are consistently followed and new recipes are tested on a seasonal basis.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely preparation of food items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as required.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative input for new dishes and specials.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (1 to 2 years) as a Cook specializing in Indian snacks and South Indian dishes.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, spices, and ingredients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.
