About the Role
Are you a project management and process improvement professional passionate about process excellence and operational efficiency? The Project Operations Manager (Volunteer) will play a critical role in shaping and refining organizational processes while enabling our Director team to operate at peak efficiency. This is a hybrid role in a fast-growing, volunteer-led nonprofit where your expertise will directly impact project success and leadership effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Project Process Optimization & Excellence (Approx. 50%)
- Evaluate and optimize organizational and project-related processes to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and excellence
- Apply project management principles (Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, etc.) to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements
- Recommend, implement, and track enhancements to workflows, ensuring consistent process excellence
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, balancing efficiency with adaptability for a volunteer-led environment
Director Support & Enablement (Approx. 50%)
- Provide operational support to Directors, including meeting prep, reporting, follow-ups, and workflow coordination
- Act as a bridge between Directors and project/program teams, ensuring smooth execution of initiatives
- Maintain tools, dashboards, and documentation to enable Directors to make timely, informed decisions
- Collaborate with project/program managers while ensuring director-focused processes remain efficient and excellent
Qualifications
- Project management experience (Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Waterfall, or equivalent)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and process improvement skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and initiative-taking in a fast-paced, volunteer-driven nonprofit environment
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements that support leadership and project efficiency
