Position Description

Surrey Place is seeking a Project Manager to be a key member of the project management team.  Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) & Business Process Improvement (BPI), you are responsible for overseeing the planning, tracking, monitoring, documenting and reporting of all Surrey Place organizational projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with Surrey Place management to initiate projects, develop project charters, work breakdown structures, project schedules, define project roles and responsibilities, monitor work performed and close projects.  
  • Manage stakeholders and work with project sponsors to keep projects moving. 
  • Lead project meetings, oversee communication with project team members and to the organization, ensuring risks, decisions and issues are documented, and presenting status reports. 
  • Coordinate and allocate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. 
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. 
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. 
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule according to Surrey Place project management processes and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.   
  • Measure and track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques as defined by the project management team, to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.  
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed. 
  • Manage the relationships with clients and all stakeholders including third parties and vendors.   
  • Delegate project management activities to Project Coordinators to ensure work is progressing according to project management processes. 
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, and record user stories.  
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with project stakeholders. 
  • Build compelling presentations and communications to engage buy-in and alignment across business units and stakeholders. 
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or equivalent work experience. 
  • Project Management certification or working towards PMP designation an asset. 
  • 5 years of direct experience in managing the projects for government, healthcare, non-profit or for-profit environments. 
  • Previous experience in project management activities with complex and large-scale projects an asset. 
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (i.e. PMBOK). 
  • Well-developed skills and experience with using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project and PowerPoint. 
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving skills; advanced organizational, administrative and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills when leading a project team.   
  • Strong written and oral communications skills. 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening).
