Job Overview

Island Smart Irrigation is hiring a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our growing team in Nanaimo. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on irrigation or landscaping experience who enjoys problem-solving, working outdoors, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair irrigation systems
  • Perform spring start-ups and fall winterizations
  • Troubleshoot valves, wiring, controllers, leaks, and coverage issues
  • Maintain residential, strata, and commercial irrigation systems
  • Communicate professionally with customers on site
  • Complete daily work orders and service reports
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and company vehicles

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ year experience in irrigation, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, or related trade
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with clean abstract
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather
  • Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused
  • Located in or able to commute to Nanaimo, BC

Assets (not required):

  • Irrigation certification or industry training (we will train the right candidate)
  • Strong troubleshooting or leadership skills
