Senior Project Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead a highly visible, enterprise-wide initiative within the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) domain for a leading organization in the financial services industry. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of successfully managing complex M&A programs in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end project delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively at an executive level while managing significant complexity and urgency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage large-scale M&A initiatives, from planning and due diligence through integration and post-close execution.
  • Establish and maintain robust program governance, including project plans, milestones, risk management, issue escalation, and executive reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple internal and external vendors and partners, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Engage with senior executives and key stakeholders to provide clear, concise updates on progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Operate effectively within an agile delivery model, adapting project plans as priorities evolve while maintaining control and transparency.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and interdependencies across workstreams in a highly complex environment.

Stakeholder Management

The role involves extensive collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including but not limited to:

  • Business and Product teams
  • Digital Technology and Data organizations
  • Legal, Risk, and Compliance partners
  • Marketing, Operations, and Go-To-Market teams

The Project Manager must be adept at navigating competing priorities, resolving conflicts, and driving consensus across diverse and often challenging stakeholder groups.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading M&A-related projects or programs within the financial services industry.
  • Extensive experience managing large, complex programs with multiple vendors and high executive visibility.
  • Strong background in program governance, executive communications, and delivery in time-sensitive environments.
  • Proven experience working within an agile operating model.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
