Cylinder Head Salvage Technician

Position Overview:

The Cylinder Heads Technician is responsible for Remanufacturing industrial application engine cylinder heads.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for inspecting and identifying needed scope of repairs
  • Completes all salvage steps, including, but not limited to, surface grinding, drill press, torches and welders
  • Inspects and assembles all cylinder heads
  • Failure Analysis

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months working in Wage Grade 3 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered.
  • Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C.
  • Ability to read and use measuring instruments is preferred.
  • Ability to read document specifications is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cylinder heads is preferred
  • Competency in a machine shop environment is preferred
  • Experience in surface and valve grinding is preferred
  • Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
  • Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures

Note:

  • This posting is for a static day shift working Monday - Thursday; 10 hours per day
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
  • Will require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessment
  • Hourly Rate: $ $39.14 / Hour

Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
