  • 4:00pm - 12:00am
  • 4 days on, 4 days off rotation schedule, including weekends and holidays

Pay

  • Competitive pay, starting at $19.08 per hour

Position Overview

Join our team as a housekeeper Your role will be crucial in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within our facilities. Whether it's common areas, resident rooms, or administrative offices, you'll ensure that cleanliness standards are met to prevent infections and keep spaces smelling fresh. This position involves physical tasks such as operating cleaning equipment, bending, lifting, and working with cleaning chemicals. Your contributions will play a vital role in promoting a healthy living environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Responsibilities

  • Thorough Cleaning: Ensure thorough cleaning, sanitization, and polishing of common areas, administrative spaces, and resident rooms according to cleaning schedules and guidelines.
  • Laundry Duties: Perform laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens as needed.
  • Stock Maintenance: Monitor and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and cleaning products.

Operational/Administrative Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: Respond appropriately to resident and building alarms and emergencies, ensuring residents' safety.
  • Building Security: Provide general building security by conducting security checks, managing doors, and handling after-hours phone calls.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain active communication with the Housekeeping team and Assistant Manager of Operations regarding daily operations, equipment issues, and supply needs.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Stewardship:

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, adhering to health standards at all times.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies promptly, documenting incidents and ensuring follow-up actions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is preferred
  • One (1) year of previous experience in a housekeeping, custodial, etc. environment is preferred
  • Strong desire to work with seniors
  • Completion of a current and acceptable criminal records check for the vulnerable sector as required by the Protection for Persons in Care Act and the Accommodation Standards and Licensing Act is mandatory
  • First Aid and CPR certification is required or must be attained soon after hire

Working Conditions

  • Ongoing customer service interaction and communication with staff, site residents and visitors
  • Ability to work alone during the night for hours at a time
  • Travel between HHF sites may be required
  • Performing tasks alone at various sites including HHF-operated apartment buildings may be required
  • Physical activity involving walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull equipment and supplies in accordance with the position's Physical Demands Analysis document
  • Operation of cleaning and laundry equipment is required
  • Must handle and work with various cleaning solvents and chemicals
  • Occasionally may be required to handle, clean, dispose, or move objects or materials and perform the cleanup of blood, infectious materials and/or other biohazards
  • Shifts may change according to organizational needs and occasional overtime may be required
  • Occasional exposure to unpleasant or abusive individuals
