Our client in the public sector is seeking a contract based IT Asset Management specialist to support the Inventory and Lifecycle Management Team within the Network Services department.

The contractor will play a key role in ensuring all Network Services product line equipment is available, accurately tracked, and managed.

Duration: initial term till Mar 2026, with a 1 year extension option

Location: Onsite downtown Ottawa

Responsibilities

  • Receive, catalog, update, and track IT assets in the asset management tool.
  • Coordinate dispatch, delivery, storage, and deployment of IT equipment.
  • Execute asset disposal activities in alignment with company policies.
  • Conduct quarterly audits and produce inventory and lifecycle reports.
  • Maintain and organize physical storage spaces, optimizing usage.
  • Support Infrastructure operations and participate in planning for asset deployment.
  • Liaise with Finance – Corporate Asset Management Services and other business stakeholders.
  • Assist with documentation and implementation of asset management processes.
  • Contribute to continual service improvement initiatives.
  • Identify issues, document problems, and recommend process or system improvements.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in IT inventory, supply chain, or asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, tracking, and reporting on IT assets.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating IT-related projects.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Ability to research, reconcile, and investigate asset discrepancies.
  • Experience producing inventory or lifecycle reports.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware and supported technologies.
