Overview

Cantex Crushing and MacKinley-Clark Paving are looking for an
Equipment Manager
to lead the maintenance of our fleet of crusher spreads, heavy equipment and paving equipment.

This role, based in Penticton, is crucial in ensuring that all equipment is operational, well-maintained, and effectively utilized to ensure our clients receive uninterrupted service. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational abilities, strong communication skills and have extensive experience as a heavy-duty mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance and inspection schedule of all equipment
  • Coordinate repair of any equipment that fails, including completely repairs in-house
  • Oversee budgeting for equipment-related expenses, including purchasing and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations regarding equipment handling.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in managing preventative maintenance programs, mechanical OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate in a relevant discipline (i.e. Construction, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Mechanical Engineering, Millwright), OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of procedures and regulations, including cost estimating, scheduling, licensing and CVSE permits/approvals and CVIPs.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including loaders, crushing equipment (jaw/cone), T/A trucks, skid steers, paving equipment, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and other Department Managers, external contractors, ability to provide a strong corporate representation both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with various computer applications particularly Microsoft Excel, and budget tracking, purchasing and work order creation.
  • Ability to function independently and manage various projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and weekdays; including early mornings and late nights as required.
