Job Summary

Denny's is seeking a dynamic and dedicated team member to join our restaurant team as a Server, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant. This versatile role involves providing exceptional food service, preparing and cooking meals, and supporting kitchen operations to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for the food industry, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve guests efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
  • Assist with food presentation, plating, and portion control to maintain quality standards
  • Support kitchen operations including inventory management, stock rotation, and food handling
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during shifts
  • Manage shift responsibilities including order accuracy, timing, and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise or assist in supervising staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Uphold food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures at all times
  • Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials when appropriate

Skills

  • Proven experience in food production, catering, or restaurant management; banquet or fine dining experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising or managing teams in a culinary setting
  • Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control, and food handling procedures
  • Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management practices
  • Excellent customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and serving excellence
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
  • Experience with menu planning, shift management, and food service management is desirable
  • Competency in bartending or beverage service is advantageous for roles involving bar service
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams
