Mechanical Draftsperson

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 annually ($33-$43/hr)
The Mechanical Draftsperson supports shipbuilding and vessel repair projects by creating mechanical design and production drawings derived from engineering firm packages and internal requirements. This includes piping systems, HVAC layouts, machinery arrangements, P&IDs, and mechanical outfitting. This role converts engineering concepts into production-ready mechanical documentation.
Responsibilities:
Develop mechanical system drawings based on engineering firm data, including piping, HVAC, machinery, and system schematics.Create and update P&ID diagrams, isometrics, and mechanical arrangement drawings.Produce detailed drawings for machinery foundations, pump installs, valves, penetrations, supports, and mechanical outfitting components.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, class rules, and internal standards.Support Production during installation and ensure drawing accuracy through project lifecycle.Implement revisions and redlines efficiently.Other duties as assigned.Education & Experience:
College Technologist Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related program.Marine mechanical drafting experience preferred but not required.Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent drafting software.Knowledge of piping design, mechanical systems, and industrial drafting practices.Ability to prepare clear and detailed mechanical drawings suitable for production.Strong coordination skills with Engineering, Production, and QA/QC.Problem-solving abilities and practical understanding of mechanical integration.Duke Marine Technical Services Canada Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
