'Summary'

'We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Dining Room Manager to join our team at Ste. Anne's Spa in Grafton. In this role, you will support the management of our dining services, ensuring an exceptional guest experience that aligns with our wellness-focused mission. This position is vital in maintaining our reputation for outstanding hospitality and care.'

'Responsibilities'

'Purpose of this position:

To ensure the comfort of guests in the dining area and to ensure that food service is delivered efficiently, effectively and with a professional demeanor from the kitchen to the guests within the standards of service of a four-diamond resort. To support the dining room supervisors and other staff with the daily operations of the dining room from the dining room floor. To encourage, train and coach dining room staff for excellence.

Key Objective # 1 – To provide a high quality of service to the guests and rate Excellent on guest surveys

Ø Check in with team lead, supervisor and or server opener on arrival

Ø Support supervisor or team lead with the organization of service, delegation of duties

Key Objective #2 – To support and elevate the experience of our external (guests) and internal clients (employees)

Ø Encourage and coach dining room staff to improve themselves and the quality of their work

Ø Instill in employees the desire to excel and accept responsibility and self-management

Ø Make sure expectations are clear and that when they are achieved or surpassed, staff are praised publicly when possible

Ø Always reprimand staff in private and make sure that they understand what steps are required to change or improve.

Ø Follow the disciplinary process when necessary

Warnings to be done with Dining room Manager (consult HR)

Ø Develop trust and confidence, resolve problems and issues to build a productive, goal-oriented work group

Ø Encourage the team to ask for help, get involved and participate.

Key Objective #3 – Follow expectations as outlined in training, employment contract, policies and job description

Ø Help maintain a cohesive, cooperative work environment through team building and motivation

Ø Speak about guests, coworkers and the company in the most positive and respectful terms, discourage gossip and negative conversations.

Ø Avoid standing and chatting with co-workers.

Ø Attend and actively participate in a positive way in team meetings.

Ø Maintain good interdepartmental relationships

Ø Find ways to compliment your coworkers for the good work they do.

Ø Mentor and support all of your peers when they are new or need assistance

Ø Responsible for solving guests concerns and forwarding them to the appropriate area with a follow up with the guest

Ø Follow safe shoe policy and any other safety policies as outlined in busser, server, and supervisor job descriptions

Ø Provide the proper training for any required task with the appropriate follow up and documentation.

Key Objective #4 – Be an exemplary role model

Ø Competence to execute and train on any role in the dining room hierarchy (busser, server, supervisor)

Ø Must adapt to change with ease

Ø Give direction so that the team can perform effectively.

Ø Offer on-the-job coaching, training and support.

Ø Managers who set high standards or goals and achieve them are great leaders by example. The ability to tolerate stress and remain poised under job pressures and still maintain a high activity and energy level are contagious.

Ø Managers should set the example by being accountable for their own activities and performance. Work harder on personal growth and you will become a respected and efficient leader.

Ø Review guest surveys with your staff for training purposes to provide positive feedback on the results of their efforts.

Key Objective #5 – Other duties

Ø Assist with dining room inventory

Ø Assist with purchase order requests and fulfillment

Ø Assist with changes to Silverware items, as needed

Ø Assist placing orders for groceries, coffee, tea, etc.

Ø Assist training new staff

Ø Oversee the completion of daily task lists, and other assigned duties

Ø Assist with reviews

Ø Assist with real time scheduling and input updated schedules into Time Clock

Note – Any other task as directed by the Dining Room Manager, Managing Director and Owner
