Part-time Facility Laborer

**Company Overview**:
Ste. Anne's Spa and Farms is a total of approximately 400 acres, made up of a number of facilities, fields, and trails. The Part-time Facility Laborer is a member of the Farm department. The Farm department is responsible for the outdoors property, livestock and farm fields, and the company vehicles owned by Ste. Anne's.

Ste. Anne's Farm is a beef cattle operation with an average of 30-60 steers, which supply Ste. Anne's Spa's restaurant and bakery. Good treatment of the cattle is a priority, and all Farm staff are responsible for meeting their nutritional needs and creature comforts.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Animal husbandry duties_
- Feed indoor cattle grain and hay three times per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Bed indoor cattle once per day during breakfast
- Replace hay and round bales in the cattle barn and cattle feeders as required
- Ensure indoor and outdoor cattle have consistent access to water, feed and salt
- Monitor indoor and outdoor cattle's welfare for signs of illness or discomfort, and communicate issues to Farm Manager
- Assist with cattle rotational grazing set up (fencing, water, etc.) and moving cattle from field to field during the summer season
- Perform simple mechanical fixes as required, such as in the event of frozen automatic waterers, or grain silo/auger malfunctions
- Landscaping and maintenance duties_
- Mow lawns and trails as required, while being respectful of 'Do Not Disturb' time-slots for specific areas
- Use push mower and/or weed-eaters are required for particular areas throughout the property (i.e. front courtyard, fencing around honey-bees)
- Assist with tasks such as tree or tree branch removal, trail patching, and grass/crop seeding
- Assist with snow removal with snow blowers, snow shovels, or laying grit as necessary
- Assist with cleanliness by checking properties for garbage, adverse conditions such as grit build-up or downed trees/brush, and sweeping and removing garbage/recycling in barns
- Vehicle and equipment maintenance duties_
- Detail vehicles as part of a regular rotation and assist in tracking rotation

- Perform simple mechanical fixes as required, such as replacing weed-eater line or mower fan-belt
- Wash farm equipment as required
- Use all appropriate PPE and follow all safety recommendations while operating equipment

**Education Required**:
High school diploma or equivalent

**Training Required**:
Entry level

Farm Manager

**Schedule Requirements**:

- Mandatory_ - Available to work a minimum of two (2) weekends per month.

Additional days during the week are negotiable. Maximum of 32 allowable hours per week.

If applicant desires, they can switch to full-time status (40 hours/week) during the summer.

If applicant has experience with snowplowing they may gain extra hours during winter by joining the Ste. Anne's snowplow schedule 2025/2026.

Pay: From $20.60 per hour
