Their work directly supports community connectivity and resource access, making a meaningful impact through thoughtful infrastructure stewardship.The RoleThis Engineering Program Specialist role is all about maintaining safe, reliable Forest Service Roads and infrastructure across one of B.C.'s largest Timber Supply Areas. Your work will directly support access to four remote communities, making a real difference in people's lives. Based in the welcoming town of Mackenzie, this position offers a unique blend of technical challenge, outdoor adventure, and meaningful engagement with First Nations and industry partners—perfect for those who value inclusion, exploration, and impact.Qualifications:Education and Experience RequirementsMaster's degree in forest technology or a related field (i.e., chemical, metallurgical, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience) as recognized by the Association of BC Forest Professionals and 1 year of related experience, orBachelor's degree in forest technology or a related field (i.e., chemical, metallurgical, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience) as recognized by the Association of BC Forest Professionals and 2 years of related experience, orDiploma in forest technology or a related field (i.e., chemical, metallurgical, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience) as recognized by the Association of BC Forest Professionals and 3 years related experience, orAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Related Experience may includeExperience related to work unit or program area.Experience in contract and/or project supervision.Professional Registration and Certification RequirementsRegistered, or immediately eligible for registration (within six months of employment), with the Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) as an Registered Forest Technologist (RFT).
