We are currently seeking skilled Industrial Painter/Blaster to support ongoing and upcoming industrial projects.

Position Summary

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing industrial surfaces in accordance with project specifications, safety regulations, and Canadian industry standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of coating systems, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for coating by sandblasting, power washing, grinding, scraping, and cleaning
  • Apply industrial coatings using spray, brush, and roller techniques
  • Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and job requirements
  • Interpret work instructions, coating specifications, and technical data sheets (TDS)
  • Measure and verify dry film thickness (DFT) and wet film thickness (WFT)
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with site safety rules
  • Identify surface defects and perform touch-ups or rework as required
  • Work collaboratively with inspectors, supervisors, and other trades
  • Complete daily reports and required documentation

Required Qualifications & Certifications (Canada Standards)

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as an Industrial Painter
  • Valid CSO (Construction Safety Officer) or CSTS certification
  • WHMIS 2015 certification
  • Fall Protection certification
  • Confined Space Awareness (asset)
  • Abrasive Blasting Certification (NACE / SSPC / AMPP preferred)
  • Knowledge of CSA, SSPC, AMPP, and ISO coating standards
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test (if required)

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of industrial coating systems (epoxy, polyurethane, zinc, fireproofing, etc.)
  • Experience with airless spray equipment
  • Ability to read and understand coating specifications and inspection hold points
  • Familiarity with surface preparation standards (SSPC-SP, ISO 8501)
  • Competent in using DFT gauges and inspection tools
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights and in industrial environments
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Nice to Have (Assets)

  • NACE / AMPP Coating Applicator or Inspector Level 1
  • Experience working on oil & gas, LNG, mining, or heavy industrial projects
  • Valid driver's license
  • First Aid certification
  • Previous experience working under ITPs and QA/QC procedures

Work Environment

  • In-person, industrial job site
  • May involve working outdoors, at heights, or in confined spaces
  • PPE required at all times
