Job Summary:

Working on our commissioning team (Vertical Start Up Commissioning Group - VSC Group) as a Senior Commissioning Agent (Mechanical), you will be providing commissioning services to our clients, which includes both off-site development work and on-site physical verification services. This is an exciting career for someone who is passionate about quality and doing things right and is seeking an opportunity that offers both hands-on field work and office technical development work.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the latest cloud-based commissioning technology and software.
  • Develop detailed functional performance test procedures.
  • Attend commissioning and related meetings, chairing meetings and taking minutes.
  • Complete onsite commissioning including completing commissioning forms and identifying deficiencies.
  • Represent VSC Group at commissioning site meetings to present progress status, identify items that are required to be completed by contractors, and answer contractor and client/owner representative questions

You will be a great fit if you have/are:

  • Familiarity with the commissioning process.
  • Understanding of thermal environments in mission-critical facilities such as hospitals, data centers, and bio contamination labs (CL2/3).
  • Proficiency in psychometrics and heat transfer principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current building, mechanical, plumbing, fuel gas, fire, and energy codes.
  • Experience with equipment such as CRACs, CRAHs, AHUs, RTUs, VRFs, evaporators, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, adiabatic coolers, pumps, sensors, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and flowmeters.
  • Understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS),
  • Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Sequences of Operation (SOOs).
  • Knowledge of trend analysis and Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Respond thoughtfully and effectively to sensitive situations.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Skills/abilities:

  • Completion of a Mechanical Engineering degree / Technologist or Technician diploma/degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of equivalent MEP construction, commissioning and project management experience.
  • Previous experience with data centres and/or mission critical strongly preferred.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid Driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.
  • Bilingual in French and English (oral and written) highly desirable.
  • Travel to perform commissioning services is required.
  • Valid ASP Construction certificate required.
  • Safety shoes (6" minimum ankle length with toe protection and electric shock resistant) required.
  • Able to work onsite both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Travel: Frequent travel is required.
