Supply Chain Manager – Food Manufacturing (Snacks / Private Label)
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
Type: Full-Time | On-Site
We are a fast-growing snack food manufacturing company specializing in private-label and branded products across popcorn, puffs, cereals, and coated snacks. Our operation is scale-focused, technology-driven, and built on speed, precision, and accountability.
We are adding a Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of raw materials, packaging, purchasing, planning, and supplier execution — end to end. This is a leadership role with real authority and real expectations.
What You Will Own (Not "Support"):
- Full control of raw material procurement (corn, seasonings, oils, sugar, packaging film, cartons, labels)
- Ingredient accuracy & labeling integrity — zero tolerance for wrong materials on the floor
- Supplier management: pricing, performance, lead times, MOQ strategy, backups
- Production planning alignment with real inventory and real orders
- ERP-driven purchasing & traceability (we use ERP systems + live production data)
- Waste reduction from purchasing errors, over-ordering, expiring materials
- Inbound logistics & freight optimization
- Food safety documentation support (COAs, specs, traceability, recalls)
- Inventory turns, safety stock, and cycle counts with real accountability
You will not be "checking emails all day." You will be running the nervous system of the factory.
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days:
- No wrong materials entering production
- All SKUs tied to accurate BOMs
- Suppliers hitting confirmed lead times
- Emergency purchasing dramatically reduced
- Inventory visibility cleaned up
- Purchasing decisions becoming proactive instead of reactive
Required Experience:
- 3+ years in food manufacturing supply chain OR purchasing
- Direct experience with ingredients + flexible packaging film
- Strong understanding of:
- MOQs
- Lead times
- Shelf life
- Traceability
- Forecast-driven purchasing
- ERP system experience (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo or similar)
- Comfortable in fast-moving private-label operations
- Able to talk to:
- Operators
- QA
- Sales
- Suppliers
- Leadership
— without confusion
Personality & Mindset We Require:
- Proactive, not reactive
- Obsessive about accuracy
- Calm under pressure
- Data-driven
- Doesn't wait to be told
- Can say "no" to bad purchasing decisions
- Thinks in systems, not silos
KPIs You Will Be Measured On:
- Material accuracy rate
- Supplier lead time reliability
