Pro Shop Attendant / Retail Manager

Job Summary

Rundle Park Golf Course is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Pro Shop Attendant / Retail Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, community-oriented golf environment and has a passion for retail, customer service, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will play a key role in daily pro shop operations, delivering excellent customer experiences, managing retail sales, and supporting merchandising and inventory. This position offers an opportunity to grow retail management skills while being part of one of Edmonton's most inclusive and well-loved golf courses.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional, knowledgeable service
  • Assist guests with product selection including golf equipment, apparel, and accessories
  • Operate POS systems efficiently for sales, returns, and exchanges
  • "Handle cash" (cashless facility) and card transactions accurately

Retail Operations & Merchandising

  • Maintain attractive, organized merchandising displays
  • Price merchandise appropriately and assist with pricing strategies
  • Monitor inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and stock replenishment
  • Ensure the pro shop remains clean, professional, and well-organized

Management & Administration

  • Support scheduling, bookkeeping, record keeping, and administrative tasks
  • Train and support new staff on customer service standards and store procedures
  • Assist with promotional displays and customer communications
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and seasonal retail strategies

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in retail sales, store management, or a supervisory role
  • General understanding of the game of golf
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising or training staff
  • Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, merchandising, and inventory management
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong math skills for pricing, inventory, and basic bookkeeping
  • Professional phone etiquette and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and basic content promotion is considered an asset
  • Experience in marketing, budgeting, or training & development is an asset
