Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering a positive dining experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and food safety within a dynamic restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and safety standards
  • Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and process payments efficiently
  • Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, food prep stations, and utensils in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests

Skills

  • Experience in food preparation and food handling in a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS or similar platforms
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen procedures
  • Effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
  • Ability to upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
