Job Summary:
The role of a Home Care Support Worker involves providing individualized support and assistance to clients with their daily living activities, aiming to enhance their independence and overall well-being. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Assisting with personal care, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing, to ensure clients' hygiene and appearance are maintained to the highest standard.
Offering support with medication management, ensuring that clients take their medications as prescribed and maintaining accurate administration records. (if specified for that client)
Providing companionship and social support to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations, and participating in activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Supporting clients with mobility and transfers, assisting them during movement and transfers within the home environment to prevent accidents and promote safety.
Your commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment is crucial. This involves performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties to ensure the client's living space is hygienic and organized.
These duties aim to promote the client's independence, enhance their quality of life, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment. This role is not only challenging but also incredibly rewarding, as it allows you to make a real difference in the lives of those you care for.
Requirements:
Ability to commute daily for work
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in home care or a related field (preferred)
-open availability as this is a part time role with alternating days
Experience working with a Senior
Experience providing care for a Senior (bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, etc.)
Ability to lift 25 kg (55 lbs) and stand for long periods
First Aid and CPR Level C certification (or willingness to obtain)
Current clear criminal record check (within 90 days)
Three references (can be provided after the interview)
