RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the daily lives of our elders by performing all aspects of a Dietary Aide. You will accomplish this by serving prepared food and beverages with care and that reflect the preferences of the elders. You will collaborate with staff ensuring the dining areas are kept clean, organized and prepare meal / snacks for service throughout the day.
  • Ability to utilize equipment necessary to provide support, such as: Susie-Q carts, etc., required for specific department.
  • Act as an advocate to protect and promote elder's rights.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Current Food Safe Level 1
  • TB testing
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for the work environment
  • Speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner
  • Pass a Criminal Record Check upon hiring and every 5 years thereafter
  • Must follow direction of the PHO for the recommended flu season and required vaccines
  • Previous experience is an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of Care of Persons with Dementia is an asset but not required

  • Ability to communicate with and listen effectively to elders, families, and other care partners (includes both verbal and written communication skills)

Pay: $24.34 per hour
