Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive services, ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience. This role requires a blend of mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and sales acumen to effectively communicate with clients and facilitate their automotive needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their service needs.
  • Gather detailed information regarding vehicle issues and relay this information to the service department.
  • Provide accurate estimates for repairs and services, ensuring transparency with customers.
  • Upsell additional services or products that may benefit the customer's vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, and transactions.
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while ensuring accuracy.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of services.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair is essential.
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Sales experience, particularly in upselling services or products in an automotive context.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
