2. Department Overview — Patient Access & Communications (PAC)
PAC is the strategic bridge connecting
patients, physicians, and research sponsors
.
Through the
Patient Acquisition Strategy & Technology (PAST)
framework, PAC builds scalable systems that enable:
- Patient identification, enrollment, and retention
- Physician referral networks and pharmacy collaborations
- Patient Support Program (PSP) / Patient Access Program (PAP) development
- Commercialization and operationalization of TheraPath pathways
PAC ensures scientific evidence transitions into real-world access and patient value across our CTaTO and VBC ecosystem.
3. Key Responsibilities
A) Strategic & Team Leadership
- Own and execute the annual PAC strategy focused on patient access growth and research scalability.
- Apply
PAST
to build data-driven workflows for patient identification, onboarding/enrollment, and long-term retention. - Lead cross-functional delivery with Labs,
ICC
, and RWE teams to ensure integrated care-to-evidence outcomes. - Build and manage partnerships with physicians, pharmacies, PSP/PAP programs, and payers to operationalize TheraPath studies.
- Provide day-to-day direction to the PAC team, ensuring clear priorities, performance tracking, and execution quality.
B) Scientific Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Oversee creation of clinically accurate, compliant communication materials for patients and physicians.
- Plan and deliver patient education and physician engagement/training to increase awareness and participation.
- Represent the institution externally with investigators, sponsors, payers, and healthcare organizations.
C) Systems, Digital Operations & Innovation
- Build and continuously optimize digital recruitment and outreach systems, enabling performance monitoring and scalable operations.
- Partner with RWE, data engineering, and AI teams to refine patient identification and enrollment algorithms.
- Drive automation, visualization dashboards, and continuous improvement across patient access operations.
4. Qualifications
Must-Have
- Advanced degree
in a medical / clinical discipline
OR equivalent applied experience
in clinical research, medical strategy, or patient access. - (Examples: MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc with strong clinical research/medical strategy leadership.)
- 3+ years
in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Patient Access, or healthcare growth/implementation roles. - Proven ability to
translate clinical or scientific insights into real-world patient access execution
. - Hands-on experience building or running
multi-stakeholder networks
(physicians, labs, payers, PSP/PAP, pharmacies). - Strong cross-functional leadership, operational rigor, and data-driven decision-making.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience as a
Medical Advisor / MSL / medical liaison
in industry. - Familiarity with
VBC, RWE, and HEOR
concepts and how they support access strategy. - Experience in digital recruitment tools, CRM, LIMS, and analytics platforms.
Languages
- Fluent English required; French preferred.

6. What We Offer

CAD $90,000 – $130,000
