Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, this role offers an excellent opportunity to support and enhance the financial operations of our company. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This is a part-time position (24–32 hours per week), and we offer flexible scheduling to support work/ life balance.

Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, credit card transactions, and expense reports.
  • Reconcile and process sales for wine shops, restaurant and B2B customers.
  • Process accounts receivable credit card payments.
  • Handle the recording and distribution of tips in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB) as required.
  • Perform inventory data entry functions, including recording incoming and outgoing inventory transactions and conducting periodic inventory counts.
  • Prepare and input journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Provide support for payroll processing as needed.
  • Perform other administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and team player mentality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Sage.
  • Knowledge of Ollie Order and Commerce 7 is a plus.
  • Interest in the wine industry is a plus.
