Job Summary
The Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada was formed by the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) to increase philanthropic support for the community radio sector. The
Fundraising Director
is an exciting opportunity to support building a new organization from the ground up. This new position will work with the foundation board of directors and the CRFC to secure funds so that the foundation can support the community radio sector and become self-sustaining in the near future. The Fundraising Director reports to the board of directors of the Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada.
Objectives
Responsibilities include securing gifts, grants and funds from public and private foundations and corporations to support community radio stations. The Fundraising Director will be responsible for developing relationships with major funders, including meeting any reporting requirements, and ensuring that funds are expended for the agreed-upon project, program or purpose.
In addition, the Fundraising Director will help develop a comprehensive fundraising plan for the foundation, including the eventual cultivation of individual major gifts and a legacy giving program. This position will also ensure that all reporting and tax-receipting – as per the ethical standards of fundraising professionals and legal requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency – are being met.
This role will be required to work independently and professionally, demonstrating a high level of initiative while being in an environment where flexibility and multitasking are essential.

This could include a Bachelor's degree and approximately five years of relevant fundraising experience or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience that equips you for success in this position.
Job Descriptions
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Thorough knowledge of fundraising strategy, fundraising practices (e.g. moves management) and ethical fundraising principles.
- Experience leading fundraising campaigns, soliciting prospects, writing grants, activating board networks.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and analyze issues, develop solutions and implement effective strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Commitment to diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working environment.
- Ability to collaborate, build and maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
- Ability to work in both official languages.
Assets
- Experience with the non-profit and/or community radio sector.
- Experience with fundraising customer relationship management software.
- Familiarity with Canada Helps.

Le/La directeur-rice de la collecte de fonds et de la philanthropie relève du conseil d'administration de la Fondation des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Canada.
Objectifs
Les responsabilités comprennent l'obtention de dons, de subventions et de fonds auprès de fondations et d'entreprises publiques et privées pour soutenir les stations de radio communautaires. Le/La directeur-rice de la collecte de fonds sera chargé de développer des relations avec les principaux bailleurs de fonds, notamment de répondre à toutes les exigences en matière de rapports et de s'assurer que les fonds sont dépensés pour le projet, le programme ou l'objectif convenu.
De plus, le/la directeur-rice de la collecte de fonds aidera à élaborer un plan complet de collecte de fonds pour la fondation, y compris le développement éventuel de dons majeurs individuels et d'un programme de dons en héritage. Le titulaire de ce poste veillera également à ce que tous les rapports et les reçus fiscaux – conformément aux normes éthiques des professionnels de la collecte de fonds et aux exigences légales de l'Agence du revenu du Canada – soient respectés.
Ce rôle devra travailler de manière indépendante et professionnelle, en faisant preuve d'un grand sens de l'initiative, tout en évoluant dans un environnement où la flexibilité et la capacité à mener plusieurs tâches de front sont essentielles.

- Une connaissance approfondie de la stratégie de collecte de fonds, des pratiques de collecte de fonds (par exemple, gestion des déplacements) et des principes éthiques de collecte de fonds.
- Excellent souci du détail et compétences avérées en matière d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes.
- Capacité à identifier et à analyser les problèmes, à élaborer des solutions et à mettre en œuvre des stratégies efficaces pour atteindre les résultats souhaités.
- Engagement en faveur de la diversité et contribution à un environnement de travail inclusif et respectueux.
- Capacité à collaborer, à établir et à maintenir des relations positives avec des personnes diverses et à travailler efficacement dans un environnement d'équipe.
- Compétences administratives et organisationnelles avérées.
