Snow Removal- Salt Truck Operator

Superb Group Inc. is a dynamic snow removal and landscaping company located in Guelph, serving Commercial, Industrial, and Condominium properties in Guelph, Kitchener/Waterloo, and Cambridge. We are dedicated to providing a positive, fun, and safe working environment, and we are currently looking for reliable Salt Truck Operators to join our Snow Maintenance team.
This is an on-call, 24/7 contract position from November 15th, 2024 to April 15th, 2025. There is potential for multi-season employment for hardworking individuals with a great attitude and strong work ethic.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Operate salt trucks to apply de-icing materials (salt) on roadways, parking lots, and sidewalks to ensure safe driving and walking conditions.
- Monitor and adjust salt application rates to achieve optimal results based on weather conditions and surface needs.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on salt truck equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Respond promptly to on-call assignments within 30 minutes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring thorough and efficient application of salt.
- Maintain accurate records/logs of salt usage, equipment maintenance, and service hours.
- Submit all required paperwork and documentation electronically and/or manually at the end of each shift.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Previous experience operating salt trucks or similar heavy equipment is an asset.
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record; must be legally able to drive in Ontario.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific routes and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to changing weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
- Capability to work outdoors in cold temperatures and handle the physical demands of the job.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality service.
- Proficiency with smartphones or tablets for submitting reports and documentation.
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience. This is an outdoor position with varying hours depending on weather conditions. Successful candidates must have and wear appropriate warm, weather-proof clothing.
