The Opportunity

We are currently looking to hire a Kitchen Helper for our Rehabilitation Facility in Grouard, Alberta. You'll get to work with a growing organization where you will gain valuable experience in the field of rehabilitation care.

  • Assist the cook with all meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts).
  • Responsible for preparing salads and desserts for clients of the Centre.
  • Keeps track of grocery orders, unpacks, rotates and tracks stock in coolers and on shelves.
  • Ensures all dispensers (salt and pepper, napkins, etc.) are maintained daily.
  • Ensures dining room is blocked off 15 minutes before mealtimes (except in the morning).
  • Records temperature of all fridges at least twice daily to ensure safety standards and reports any issues to the Cook and/or Executive Director.
  • Responsible for helping with clean up at the end of every meal and snack (sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables and countertops etc.). Ensures that the kitchen has ample cleaning products on hand and order as needed.
  • Responsible for cleaning all kitchen laundry on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the daily cleanup of the kitchen and dining area (dining room tables, dishes, kitchen counters and sinks, equipment, floors, garbage, etc.).
  • Ensure that reports of any repairs and/or malfunction or breakage of equipment provided to the Management team.
  • Must record all meals served using the proper paperwork. If a client misses a meal, the Kitchen Helper is to notify the treatment team.
  • Other duties may also be required.
