Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced food service environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the food industry, eager to gain restaurant and kitchen experience, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation and cooking activities under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
  • Support food handling processes, ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices
  • Help with serving food to customers or staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and organizing supplies
  • Assist in setting up workstations and restocking ingredients or utensils as needed
  • Follow all food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
  • Support meal preparation tasks for various menu items, adhering to recipes and portion controls
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of food handling safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to perform basic cooking and food preparation tasks
  • Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction when applicable
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food safety protocols
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or carrying supplies or dishes
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 36 per week
