Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Skid steer operator to efficiently manage snow removal operations during winter months. This role involves operating heavy machinery and maintaining safety standards to ensure clear and accessible pathways for residents and businesses. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, familiarity with construction equipment, and experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a vital community service, contributing to safety and accessibility during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related heavy machinery to clear roads, driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks effectively.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on plow equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of construction and mechanical tools.
  • Document completed work and report any issues or hazards encountered during snow removal operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of snow removal tasks under adverse weather conditions.

Skills

  • Proven experience operating skid steer, snow plows, or similar heavy machinery.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction, mechanical work, and outdoor operations in winter conditions.
  • Ability to work night shift/on call/ day shift

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
