Job Description
Hines Facilities Services Ltd. is hiring Snow Removal Technicians for the upcoming winter season to support snow and ice control operations at multiple locations.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining safe and accessible outdoor areas, including parking lots, walkways, and entrances, during winter weather conditions. This is an on-call, physically demanding outdoor position that requires flexibility and reliability.
As a Snow Removal Technician, you will:
- Manually remove snow from sidewalks, stairs, entrances, and tight areas not accessible by equipment
- Spread salt, sand, and other ice control materials to reduce slip hazards
- Operate small snow removal equipment, including snow blowers
- Assist with clearing parking areas, driveways, and roadways using hand tools or by supporting equipment operators
- Monitor walkways and public spaces to ensure safe, ice-free conditions
- Load and restock salt and sand spreaders as required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to complete work safely and efficiently
- Remain available for on-call shifts during snow events, including nights, early mornings, and weekends
- Perform duties in severe winter conditions, including cold temperatures, snow, ice, and wind
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible, on-call hours during snowfalls
- Previous snow removal or outdoor labour experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work long shifts during significant weather events
- Willingness to work as part of a team and follow all safety procedures
Pay: $19.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Fixed-term contract (6 months)
