Our client is sourcing for a Fund Accountant for a 3-month contract.

About the Opportunity

  • Daily NAV Calculation: Calculate the Net Asset Value (NAV) per share or unit by valuing the fund's assets and liabilities, reconciling cash and securities, and posting income accruals, expenses, and management fees.
  • Transaction Processing: Record all fund transactions such as purchases or sales of securities, income from dividends or interest, and investor subscriptions or redemptions, ensuring trades are correctly settled and recorded.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, support audits and regulatory filings, and provide detailed performance reports to fund managers and investors.
  • Reconciliations: Perform cash and position reconciliations with custodians and brokers and investigate and resolve any discrepancies in trade or balance data.
  • Expense Monitoring: Track and allocate fund expenses such as management, custody, and audit fees, ensuring proper accruals and approvals for payments.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Support: Maintain compliance with accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP) and assist with regulatory and tax reporting requirements.

About You

  • CPA designation
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in fund accounting (within finance team of investment management firm and/or investment/wealth management arm of Big Bank
  • Hands-on IFRS reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, fund reporting, etc.
  • Exposure to financial reporting tools and ability to compile and transform large volumes of data using Excel
  • Experience using an ERP system ability to validate data across systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong self-starter with good organizational and time-management skills
  • Good team player and excellent communication skills
