Position Overview: The Fund Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of daily priced pooled funds, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role offers an opportunity to enhance a strong foundation in fund accounting while working closely with Senior Fund Accountants, Management, Technology and the Investment Fund Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and calculating daily NAVs after market close.
  • Ensure all fund-related transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop and/or support process improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Assist with the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with the FA Manager and other Fund Accountants to resolve discrepancies and address any accounting issues.
  • Monitor cash flow and coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper fund liquidity management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reports.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new funds and fund structures, ensuring smooth transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in fund accounting or a related financial role.
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Fund Accounting software as well as an aptitude to learn.
  • Mfact experience would be considered an asset.
  • Eagerness to enhance & develop in the field of fund accounting.

Work hours are 11am to 7pm EST.Position is open to fully remote candidates who reside in Mountain Time or Pacific Standard Time.
