Job Overview

The Transportation Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and optimizing the movement of goods and personnel within the organization. This position involves coordinating logistics, scheduling transportation, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations.

Duties

  • Develop and oversee transportation schedules to meet operational needs and deadlines
  • Coordinate with 6 drivers, multiple vendors, and clients to arrange pickups and deliveries
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Manage e-logs and truck movements through GeoTab
  • Resolve logistical issues promptly to minimize delays or disruptions
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Optimize routes for efficiency to reduce costs and improve service quality

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in transportation management software or related logistics tools
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Ability to analyze data for route optimization and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of GTA and 400-series traffic
  • Experience in fleet management or logistics coordination is a plus
  • Valid driver's license is preferred for certain roles within transportation management
