Job Description

We are looking to hire an experienced full-time Fleet Maintenance Coordinator for our Barrie, Ontario terminal. The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance schedules and day-to-day operations, to make certain of a best practices approach to directing repairs, modifications, and maintenance issues in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. NB: This role embodies an exceptional career opportunity for a person familiar with a variety of transportation vehicles, equipment, service requirements, and transport legislation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations of trailer damage incidents
  • Document findings, take photos, and compile detailed reports
  • Determine cause of damage and identify responsible parties
  • Work with drivers, operations, and maintenance teams to gather information
  • Recommend preventative measures and improvements
  • Maintain accurate records for insurance and compliance purposes
  • Processing electronic invoices and purchase orders
  • Complete service calls.
  • Data Entry - Enter repair invoices into system.

Qualifications

  • Well-organized, punctual, and computer literate—with an emphasis on spreadsheets and email applications relevant to fleet maintenance administration and logistics
  • Previous experience in the transportation industry, or a related administrative role is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of transportation regulations and maintenance best practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, e.g., making recommendations to management and other staff with regard to vendors, suppliers, and maintenance issues
  • Direct knowledge and understanding of manufacturers' service requirements and warranties
  • Willingness to respond when necessary to legislated or time sensitive demands beyond regularly scheduled work hours.
