Job Summary:
The general laborer performs a variety of tasks under close supervision of higher-level employees. These tasks may include assisting with extra workload, prepping machines and tools for jobs, and eventually learning how to operate the machines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and lubricating equipment, maintaining a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
- Closely following directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery.
- Performing a variety of manual tasks.
- Assisting with prepping machines for jobs.
- Reporting any issues to supervisor or higher-level employees.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Job training for this position is provided by the department trainer.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
