Incinerator Technician/General Labourer

In this role, MATRIX is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as General Labourers for our MLA Camp located in the Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various general labor tasks. MATRIX offers excellent career advancement opportunities and a challenging and supportive work environment. Start date for this position is between November - December, 2025.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general labor tasks according to safe work practices and procedures.
- Assist with construction and assembly of various structures and facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Assist with fuelling, snow removal, garbage incineration and other general site services tasks.
- Assist with camp maintenance, general janitorial and cleaning duties as required, as well as help with storage and packing of camp deliveries and luggage.
- Report any incidents or accidents immediately.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Adhere to project schedules and deadlines.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience as a general laborer or similar role.
- Must have previous camp experience. Exploration camp experience is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Standard First Aid certification is an asset.
Travel Allowance
Day rate $350, based on 12 hour shifts
This position is working on a rotational 3 Weeks in 3 Weeks out schedule (Fully Remote).
