Volunteer Basketball Coach

Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Basketball Coach to lead our Post Grad Rep mens team this fall-spring. The ideal candidate will have played at the Post Grad/College level or coached this age group successfully in the past. We need someone who can come in and turn a set of players into a cohesive and effective team, developing a culture to build around moving forward.
Duties
- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Conduct regular training sessions, ensuring that all players receive personalized attention and feedback.
- Organize and lead team meetings to discuss strategies, goals, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and hard work.
- Coordinate with parents and guardians regarding player development and team activities.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Proven experience either as a player or a coach is required
- Deep understanding of the game of basketball and an ability to make tough concepts simple when explained to others
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, other teams, and venue staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, practices, and game logistics.
- Commitment to building up individuals both on and off the court, helping them to become the best versions of themselves.
