Full-Time Live-In Caregiver and Home Support Worker

Duties: This person will assist with care of an elderly couple with limited mobility in their home. This is a full-time live-in position.

Job Summary: Dispense medication and monitor vital signs. Glucose monitoring and documentation. Aid in ambulation, transfers from bed to chair. Bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and undressing. Physical therapy based on recommendations from health professional. Assist in regular exercise. Provide companionship through conversation, reading, puzzles, etc. Plan and prepare meals. Regular housekeeping and maintenance. Clean and maintain assigned areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows. Ensure all rooms are properly stocked with amenities and supplies. Make beds and change linens as required. Perform laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding. Assist with meal preparation and cooking as needed. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the property. We have dogs and cats.

Qualifications: Strong organizational skills to manage cleaning and caring tasks and prioritize work. Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently. Basic cooking skills for meal preparation. Training in health care, especially with seniors (we can provide specific training). First aid training. Able to track and record vitals. Must be strong enough to assist adult patients with limited mobility. Candidate must be kind and personable. Good communication essential quality. Dementia care (knowledge is an asset).
