Repair and Maintenance Technician (On-Call, Weekdays Only)

About Us

Bambini is a leading group of Reggio-inspired childcare centers in Edmonton and St. Albert. We take pride in creating warm, safe, and inspiring environments for children and families.

We're seeking a reliable and skilled Repair and Maintenance Technician who can assist when our regular repair person is unavailable. This position is on-call only, typically weekdays between 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. You must be available to meet our Center Directors in person during the day when maintenance needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and assemble wooden furniture and toys.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry repairs as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain playground equipment and indoor facilities to ensure safety.
  • Respond promptly to on-call maintenance requests from staff or management.
  • Keep brief records of work completed and materials used.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe work area after each repair.
  • Coordinate with the primary repair technician or outside contractors when required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, preferably in schools, daycares, or similar environments.
  • Must have a full set of tools and reliable vehicle.
  • Strong skills in carpentry, basic plumbing, and light electrical work.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to communicate clearly with directors and staff.
  • Able to lift and move furniture and materials as needed.
  • Must be available during the day on short notice (weekdays only).
