Primary Responsibilities

  • Assembly of wood components including studs, chords, webs, sheathing, and plating according to engineered shop drawings and production schedules
  • Interpret and verify measurements using tape measures, marking tools, and cut lists with accuracy to within required tolerances
  • Operate pneumatic, electrical, and manual tools such as nail guns, saws, impact drivers, staplers, and specialized jig systems
  • Assist with machine operation, including setup, feeding, alignment, and material changeovers on automated or semi-automated truss and panel equipment
  • Quality assurance checks, including dimensional verification, connector plate embedding, alignment, and material defect identification
  • Material handling and staging, including stacking, strapping, and bundling completed components for transport
  • Follow safety protocols related to lockout/tagout, equipment use, and handling heavy or awkward materials
  • Maintain production workflow by communicating issues, shortages, or adjustments to supervisors and team leads

Technical Requirements & Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, truss design layouts, and panel diagrams is an asset
  • Proficiency with tape measure reading (1/16" accuracy)
  • Experience in framing, carpentry, lumber handling, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Understanding of lumber grades, species, and material characteristics is an asset
  • Ability to safely lift up to 80 lbs and perform repetitive, physically demanding tasks
  • Strong awareness of shop safety standards and equipment operation
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new production systems and workflows

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
