**Company Bio** Home and Community Care Support Services South East is one of 14 Home and Community Care Support Services organizations in Ontario with a focused mandate to deliver local health care services such as home and community care and long-term care home placement. These organizations were previously known as Local Health Integration Networks (or "LHINs") at a time when they also led local health care planning and funding, and those functions are now part of Ontario Health. Home and Community Care Support Services South East is dedicated to ensuring the ongoing delivery of local services while Ontario makes changes to improve the health care system to give patients better-connected care with health care providers working as one coordinated team in Ontario Health Teams. The south east region extends from Brighton on the west, to Prescott and Cardinal on the east, north to Perth and Smiths Falls, and back to Bancroft. The boundaries are for funding and planning purposes only. Home and Community Care Support Services South East is looking for a Manager, Human Resources and Labour Relations with demonstrated experience collaborating with operational leaders in the development of people strategies and plans, and expert level knowledge of employee and labour relations best practices to support a highly unionized environment. Areas of responsibility will include labour and employee relations, HR operations including recruitment, occupational health and safety, scheduling, HRIS systems and reports, and HR service delivery through a team of HR professionals. In conjunction with the Director, Human Resources the Manager Human Resources and Labour Relations is accountable for partnering with leaders to support organizational initiatives, enhance employee performance, and oversee HR program delivery, including consultation on a broad range of employee and labour relations matters, grievance administration, performance management issues, employment and human rights legislation obligations, and organizational compliance requirements. In an inclusive culture committed to support your passion for continuous learning, growth and innovation, we offer: - Attractive comprehensive compensation packages and benefits - Valuable development opportunities - Membership in a world class defined benefit pension plan - Hybrid work environment and flexible work location [a mix of on-site and remote work allow for flexibility in work locations including any of the Home and Community Care Support Service South East offices, or the neighbouring regions of Ottawa or Oshawa] **What will you do?** Labour Relations - Provide advice and counsel to management regarding collective agreement administration and the resolution of employee and labour relations issues; - Acts as spokesperson regarding labour relations processes, particularly collective agreement and grievance administration and chairs Union-Management meetings; - Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with union representatives to manage grievances and address employee and/or management concerns; - Assists the Director, Human Resources in escalated union and non-union employee matters as required; - Conduct research regarding human resources and labour relations issues, trends and best practices; including research to support the collective bargaining process; - Interpret and administer the collective agreement with respect to grievances, and professional responsibility complaints; - Coach management and team on variety of labour relations matters and assist managers to investigate complaints/grievances; - Provides technical guidance to other HR staff on employee and labour relations matters; - Builds and sustains positive long-term relationships with unions; - Partners with Director, Human Resources on escalated labour and employee relations activities. HR/LR Policies and Programs - Contributes to the development of surveys, benchmarks, policies and processes to support organizational strategic objectives and HR program development; - Contributes to the design, development and delivery of labour relations education and training initiatives for management and
