Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides/Personal Support Workers to provide essential support to individuals in their homes (private home, LTC, Retirement Home.) This role is ideal for those passionate about helping others and making a positive impact on clients' quality of life. The position involves assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities with daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred but not required. This is a paid position designed to foster caregiving skills and promote personal growth in the healthcare field. Must be able and willing to work split shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Administer medications following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
  • Monitor clients' health status and report any concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals
  • Support clients with mobility exercises or transfers as needed
  • Follow care plans accurately and document services provided

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is a plus
  • Strong caregiving skills with a focus on senior care and working with people with disabilities
  • Knowledge of dementia care techniques and medication administration safety
  • Excellent communication skills and compassionate nature
  • Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
  • Reliable, patient, and attentive to clients' needs
  • Ability to work independently while following established care protocols
  • Prior experience in home care settings is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided

Pay: $19.15-$24.00 per hour
