Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Healthcare Support Workers (HSWs) to join our team in Timmins. This role involves providing high-quality care to clients in assisted living, home care, nursing homes, and hospice settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia or hospice care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need by delivering personalized, respectful, and professional care.
At this time we are looking for someone with morning availability, however this can change as the role changes.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications and manage medication schedules in accordance with care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment
- Support patients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Monitor health status and report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia care, hospice support, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Document care provided accurately and maintain confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, medication administration, and caregiving best practices
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is a strong asset
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate nature
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Healthcare Support Worker (HSW) is required or equivalent experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; availability for both day and evening shifts preferred

Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
